Meet
the Crew
Graham
started sailing in the early ‘90s through his corporate role, taking
clients out on a company yacht. Even then he thought “I could get
used to this”. Not much later he saw a yacht charter advertised
in Elegant Resorts showing a couple running a yacht for honeymoon couples,
sailing the Caribbean and once again he thought “I’d love
to do that”. Over the years as his career took off he started travelling
to far away exotic places, learned to dive and fell in love with adventure
and travel, so much so that each time he went away he hated to leave
and come back home to “normality”. Of course he did a bit
of sailing here and there, bareboat charter holidays, got his Day Skipper,
did a few miles, all the time telling himself that he couldn’t
leave his job as it paid so well, ignoring the fact that it had taken
over his life.
When Kate was a little girl she was always attracted to boats and loved
the idea of sailing. Somehow, however, other things got in the way and
distracted her until she almost forgot that it was something she wanted
to do. As she got older, she began to dream of travelling: seeing exotic
places and experiencing all the world has to offer. For a long time,
though, that was something she was going to do ‘one day’.
Eventually, they woke up to the narrow lives that they were living.
With one small switch in their thinking, everything changed. Graham left
his corporate career, completed the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers)
and qualified as a skipper under the RYA Yachtmaster scheme. Kate finally
learned to sail too. They learned how to use more of their minds and
used this information to change their lives (The Success System That
Cannot Fail).
Once the decision had been made to follow their dreams of sailing and
living in the sun, they sold up and started planning their move to the
Caribbean. They had no idea how it was going to work, financially or
physically, but by applying the mind technology they had learned, things
started to happen to make their dreams come true: they met the right
people, found the necessary information, opportunities popped up and
the plan started to come together.
Graham and Kate have now sailed the Atlantic (Graham twice), spent many
long glorious days sailing round the South Coast of the UK, hopping across
the Channel to France and down to the West Country. Graham has also spent
time sailing around the Canaries and the Caribbean, including the British
Virgin Islands and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Our Favourite Quote:
"Our
deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others"
Marianne
Williamson, from her book “A Return to
Love”
Quoted by Nelson Mandela in his inaugural speech 1994
