Antigua

A lively tourist destination, most of Antigua's sites of interest are in or around the historic Nelson's Dockyard at English Harbour, the only Georgian dockyard in the world. This island alone boasts 365 beaches, one for every day of the year, and the great majority rest within the calm, protected waters of the island's Caribbean side. Antigua is almost completely surrounded by well-preserved coral reefs. Once again, the diving and snorkeling are fantastic.

Martinique

Martinique is a little corner of France in the Caribbean. French is the official language and the island has a stylish, chic feel combined with a sensuous and fun-loving Creole spirit. Because it is a volcanic island (the volcano, Montagne Pelee, last erupted in 1902) and rises steeply from the sea, it does not have a great many swimmable beaches although the scenery, particularly in the mountainous north, is stunning.

St Lucia

The twin peaks of the 2600 foot twin Pitons on St Lucia's southwest coast are among the most beautiful sights in the Caribbean, soaring above picturesque fishing village of Soufriere. Graham still raves about the dive he made on the wall below the Pitons where he saw his first and only (to date) whale shark. Marigot Bay, midway down the Caribbean coast, is another beautiful spot, surrounded on three sides by steep hills. Beaches don't come better than this.
