What
to Expect
Our
style of holidays is relaxed, very relaxed. There is a phrase used in
the travel industry which describes it well, “no news, no shoes”.
Come with a pair of shorts and a t-shirt and you’ll fit in well.
Leave the DJ and suits behind; bring your trunks or bikini and the sun
lotion.
Food is a relaxed affair too. We offer wonderful food, using fresh local
produce when we can. Meals are served in the cockpit, under the shade
of the bimini if required, where you can relax, listen to the sound of
the water lapping the hull and chat with your fellow travellers.
There is plenty of time given for day dreaming, which we actively encourage.
What to leave behind:
There are some things we hope you’ll forget. We hope you’ll
forget to bring your worries, your problems and your work. All of this
is to be left behind. If for any reason you should arrive with it, we
will ask you to pack it up in a cardboard box and leave it on the dock
before stepping aboard as there is not room for you and all of this on
the yacht. If you still want it when you come to leave, you can pick
it up at the end of the holiday when you fly home.
What to bring:
- Casual, comfy clothes - Tee shirts, shorts etc
- Long sleeve, cotton cover up for first couple of days if your skin is
not sun-friendly
- Several bathing suits...no, one is not enough!
- Hat with wide brim
- Sunglasses - polarized sunglasses are great in the Caribbean because
they let you see the reefs underwater
- Be sure to have a tie for your hat and sunglasses
-
Beach and / or walking sandals. Deck shoes if you have them (don’t worry
if you haven’t)
- A light sweater in case you encounter cool nights
- Lightweight wet weather gear if you have it
- A back pack for the trips to the beach in the dinghy
- Sun lotion ... lots of it. If you are the light-skin type, get SPF 25
or higher.
-
Insect repellant - look for a brand called "OFF", which you can
also find in the islands.
- Books / magazines. Also, CDs / DVDs if you have favourites although we
have our own collection which you are welcome to use.
- Camera. (Waterproof camera if you have one, or bring a disposable)
- Small torch (helps you find stuff at night without waking up other guests.)
- Sailing gloves if you use them.
- Remember: Bring everything in a soft bag for easy storage. Our cupboards don't
like hard, boxy suitcases!
What’s on the boat:
- Bedding: sheets, blankets, pillows
- Towels, including beach towels
- Inflatable rib, for trips ashore
- Fishing gear
- Wide selection of snorkeling gear
-
Toys: beach games, indoor games & kites
